Todd La Torre stepped into the shoes of one of Rock’s best frontmen ever when he took over lead singer duties from Geoff Tate in Queensryche after the band and Tate went their separate ways – and as a testament to La Torre’s talent – the band has not missed a beat.
With COVID sidelining things the last year La Torre took the time to record and release a solo album – Rejoice In The Suffering – which debuted at Number One on the New Artist charts – and Number Two on the Hard Music chart. Pretty damn impressive.
We got a video for one of the tracks – titled Hellbound And Down – it rocks pretty freaking hard – give it a watch.
From the press release:
“On the heels of his chart-topping debut week for Rejoice In The Suffering, Queensrÿche vocalist Todd La Torre is releasing another official music video from the critically-acclaimed album. The video for “Hellbound and Down” is a fiery visual that accompanies one of the heaviest tracks on La Torre’s debut. Todd’s songwriting partner Craig Blackwell delivers a punishing guitar riff fronted by Todd singing and screaming as fan’s have not heard before. The video for “Hellbound and Down” was directed and filmed by Thomas Crane of killDevil Films.
“Hellbound and Down is about crossing a line and paying a price. Musically, it is an action-packed metal tune with relentless groove, varying vocal textures, and vocal range. This song once again showcases stellar guitar riffs and soloing by Craig Blackwell ,” explains Todd La Torre.
Rejoice In The Suffering has been making an impression on fans and critics alike. The album debuted on the charts last week and found La Torre’s debut landing at #1 on Top New Artist Albums, #2 on Hard Music Albums, #2 on Current Rock Albums, and #19 on Billboard Top Albums among others. The deluxe version of the album features 3 bonus tracks: “Fractured,” “Set It Off” and “One by One.” Fans can order the album in various bundle configurations here: http://ratpakrecords.com/ToddLaTorre or digitally via iTunes here: https://smarturl.it/tltitunes.”
