Virginia’s GenreBlast Film Fest Unleashes Its 10th Edition Lineup
Winchester, Virginia’s GenreBlast Film Festival has a well-deserved reputation for curating selections of the weirdest, wildest, and even wackiest independent cinema. This year the fest celebrates its 10th edition with another mind-blowing lineup. Running September 3-6, 2026, the festival offers horror, thrillers, comedies, and more. GenreBlast Film Fest has announced its lineup for the tenth year of their international independent genre film festival. The four day in-person event will showcase fourteen feature films and seventy-five short films from around the world as well as the results of their annual screenplay competition.
Emanating from the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Winchester, Virginia, GenreBlast continues to champion truly independent genre cinema and features an eclectic lineup of cross-genre films. The fest prides itself on being an eccentric mixtape of genres and filmmakers.
Of the fourteen features selected this year, there are two world premieres, one U.S. premiere, two east coast premieres, six regional premieres, and three Virginia premieres
Josh Stifter’s action comedy GET THAT DICK and lo-fi analog horror anthology FINAL TRANSMISSIONS both have their world premieres at GBX. Pulp UK filmmaker Michael Fausti’s third feature ANGEL LUST has its U.S. premiere along with the east coast premieres of Lee Daehan’s brutal and unforgiving DEBONE as well as The Burkosky’s Canuxploitation sleaze fest HEAT SCORE.
Regional premieres include Alex Watson’s horror comedy DEMONETIZE, Troy Escamilla’s queer slasher HOLLOW LAKE, Jason Zink’s found footage creeper LOOKY-LOO PART II, Kaylin Allshouse’s twisty thriller STILL OHIO, Madeleine Hicks’ sci-fi dramedy SUNSHINE GIRLS, and THIS HOUSE IS TOTALLY HAUNTED, Sean Nichols Lynch’s follow-up to found footage mockumentary THE CEREMONY IS ABOUT TO BEGIN.
Justin Seaman’s THE BARN PART III, Brooke H. Cellars’ THE CRAMPS! A PERIOD PIECE and local feature horror anthology THE BLACK HILLS NIGHT HIKE all make their Virginia premiere.
The fest runs Thursday through Sunday at the Alamo Winchester concluding with a livestreamed awards ceremony followed by the GB Aftermath After Party.
