[Trailer] Iconic Indie Director J.R. Bookwalter Returns Behind The Camera With SIDE EFFECTS MAY VARY

Director J.R. Bookwalter hasn’t been behind the camera for over 20 years but that all changed this year when he got the gang back together to bring us a slimy, bloody, violent take on the COVID crisis with SIDE EFFECTS MAY VARY. Bookwalter, known for indie classics like THE DEAD NEXT DOOR, POLYMORPH, and OZONE has spent the last few decades away from the director chair, instead utilizing his time and talents restoring and marketing his past projects and choice other titles for sale at conventions and through his site MakeFlix – but the call of the camera was never far away, and with a story he wanted to tell – and a team that was ready to help him tell it – this year gave birth to something special.

SIDE EFFECTS MAY VARY tells the following tale:

“With the world gripped by a deadly pandemic, science denier Glenn Rollins turns to an experimental vaccine as treatment for a lingering sickness. Much to the surprise of his doctor, wife, and friends, the remedy immediately fixes what ails him. But Glenn will soon discover the only thing more fatal than the virus… is the cure.”

It stars James L. Edwards, Floyd Ewing Jr., Tina Krause, Sasha Graham, Brinke Stevens, Tom Hoover, and Michael Todd – and there is even a voice cameo by the amazing Debbie Rochon.

The trailer brings the bloodshed – have a look!

J.R. also shared an album of stills – check them out as well!

Just last weekend the film had its cast and crew screening so – I’ll be writing up a review for you all soon – so keep an eye out for that.

Oh yeah – check out this killer key art!
