Director Mike Flanagan Returns To The Stephen King Universe With THE LIFE OF CHUCK
Mike Flanagan has certainly earned his reputation as a master of bringing Stephen King’s work to the screen – Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep have proven that he gets it – so when this news dropped today via DEADLINES – excitement was warranted.
Flanagan will script, direct, and produce THE LIFE OF CHUCK from King’s 2020 anthology IF IT BLEEDS. Tom Hiddleston and Mark Hamill will star.
Netflix Officially Announces BIRD BOX BARCELONA
Sort of following the formula that AMC championed with their THE WALKING DEAD franchise – Netflix has committed to expanding the world of their mega-hit BIRD BOX. Back in 2018 BIRD BOX was all the rage on the streaming service, based on the amazing novel by Josh Malerman. This “spinoff” series will show all the goings on in another part of the world when the apocalyptic events take place.
An announcement video heralds the show’s arrival.
The official synopsis is as follows:
“From the producers of the global phenomenon, Bird Box, comes Bird Box Barcelona, an expansion of the film that riveted audiences in 2018. After a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, Sebastian must navigate his own survival journey through the desolate streets of Barcelona. As he forms uneasy alliances with other survivors and they try to escape the city, an unexpected and even more sinister threat grows.”
The cast includes Georgina Campbell, who any horror fan worth their weight should recognize from BARBARIAN, Mario Casas, Alejandra Howard, Naila Schuberth, Diego Calva, Patrick Criado, Lola Dueñas, Gonzalo De Castro, Michelle Jenner, and Leonardo Sbaraglia.
BIRD BOX BARCELONA hits Netflix on July 14th.
