70’s Bigfoot Classic CREATURE FROM BLACK LAKE Making Its Way To Blu-ray

The ’70s were a great decade for Bigfoot flicks – and I loved each and every one of them and without question one of the best was the 1972 classic CREATURE FROM BLACK LAKE.

It’s likely to be considered a slow burn by today’s standards but as an 11-year-old, sitting in a darkened movie theater – this flick scared the poop out of me – and it’s great that the wonderful folks at Synapse are giving it a much-deserved Blu-ray release. They just spit out the original throwback trailer from back in the day – check out this little piece of nostalgia.

The Blu-ray is hitting on Dec. 13th – and will feature the film restored in 4K from the original 35mm camera negative with DTS-HD MA 2.0 original mono sound. The Blu-ray includes a film historian commentary by Michael Gingold and Chris Poggiali, a new interview with Dean Cundey who was director of photography on this one very early in his career – and if you don’t know who Dean Cundey is, or why this is awesome – you’re hanging around the wrong website.
