Scott Derrickson’s Latest Gets An Iconic Poster

Director Scott Derrickson’s latest genre offering – The Black Phone – is making its debut at Fantastic Fest and prior to its big debut, a new poster showed up – and it’s a keeper.

The film will feature Ethan Hawke as a masked killer known as The Grabber – and the new poster features him front and center.

Interesting fact – that kick-ass mask was realized by horror icon Tom Savini and Jason Baker at Callosum Studios. It’s pretty freaking badass.

The Black Phone will hit theaters on Jan. 28th – and will tell the following creepy tale:

“After being abducted by a child killer and locked in a soundproof basement, a 13-year-old boy starts receiving calls on a disconnected phone from the killer’s previous victims.”

The film is based on a short story from Joe Hill – and was adapted by Derrickson and his long-time collaborator Robert Cargill.

Lots to like about this one at this early stage. Keeping a very close eye.
