Director Mike Flanagan and streaming giant NETFLIX have teamed up over the last few years to give us some of the best small-screen horrors in recent memory and thankfully – they are looking to keep that trend alive. Flanagan’s upcoming project for the service – MIDNIGHT MASS – has entered the promotion stage and a couple of extremely short teasers have surfaced via Twitter – oddly enough on The Haunting Of Bly Manor’s Twitter feed.
A kick-ass cast of what has become some Mike Flanagan goto performers: that includes:
Kate Siegel (“The Haunting of Hill House”) will star alongside Zach Gilford (The Purge: Anarchy) and Hamish Linklater (“Legion”). The cast also includes Annabeth Gish (The Haunting of Hill House), Michael Trucco (Hunter Killer),Samantha Sloyan (Grey’s Anatomy), Henry Thomas (The Haunting of Hill House), Rahul Abburi (Killer Ransom), Crystal Balint (The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco), Matt Biedel (Altered Carbon), Alex Essoe (Doctor Sleep), Rahul Kohli (Supergirl), Kristin Lehman (The Chronicles of Riddick), Robert Longstreet (Doctor Sleep), Igby Rigney (Blue Bloods) and Annarah Shephard.
Really don’t know much about this project other than it’s seven episodes – and here’s the official word on what it’s about:
A community experiences miraculous events and frightening omens after a mysterious priest’s arrival. From the creators of The Haunting of Hill House.”
The Netflix press site still lists this as “coming soon” but I’ve got a suspicion that one may be coming sooner then later so, check back for updates.
