Fans of 70’s disaster films might remember the Irwin Allen directed Buzzfest – The Swarm – back in those days we all lived in the fear of the “killer bees” that were most certainly on their way to kill us all, and who better to exploit that fear than the master of disaster – the one and only – Mr. Irwin Allen. So – naturally, when I got the news a new film titled The Swarm was heading towards Netflix this summer – my interest was peaked.
Turns out that this one is a swarm of a different kind – this time we get blood-thirsty locusts – and the trailer certainly paints a dismal portrait. Check it out.
Yep – subtitles – the film is coming to us from France – it stars Marie Narbonne, Suliane Brahim, Sofian Khammes, and Raphaël Romand and I have to admit – the idea of a swarm of bloodthirsty locust kind of freaks me out – I’ve always hated those long-legged nasty bugs.
So – The Swarm hits Netflix on Aug. 6th so get a can of Raid – and get ready to check it out.
