Rob Zombie fans – today is your special day. His new album is finally out – his first in about five years. I’m pretty hard on Zombie when it comes to his film work but – I have to admit, this man can rock with the best of them, and this new album titled The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy bears all the trademarks of the Zombie sound.
Coming in with a hefty 17 tracks – there is something here to please any and all fans of Zombie’s unique sound. To help announce the arrival of the new album – the record label just put out a video for Crow Killer Blues – check it out.
For me, I find Zombie is at this best when he ventures into uncharted territories, and with that in mind – I find the track 18th Century Cannibals, Excitable Morlocks and a One-Way Ticket On the Ghost Train – to be of the most interest, a weird harmonica laced, country backed metal throw down that is as good as it is interesting – sure to confuse some and delight others, like myself.
Zombies band is tight as ever and lays a solid backbone to Rob’s metal meanderings. After just a quick initial listen – I’m liking what I’m hearing.
