Stephen King has a thing about evil motor vehicles. Christine, Trucks (which became Maximum Overdrive) Uncle Otto’s Truck and of course From A Buick 8 – all about gas-powered vehicles run amok – that last one on the list has moved one more step in the process of becoming a feature film by landing itself a director – Jim Mickle.
Thomas Jane – who has done his fair share of time in the SK universe – is producing the endevour.
No solid word on when we might move into actual production but – let’s hope it’s soon.
If you’re not familiar with the story – here’s a synopsis for you.
“The book begins after a Pennsylvania state trooper is killed in a car accident, and his coworkers take turns relating the 20-year history of the mysterious Buick locked in their shed. The Buick seems to be a conduit to another reality and every now and then it breathes, inhaling a little bit of this world, exhaling a little bit of whatever world it came from.”
Keeping a close eye on this one – if and when things start chugging along – I’ll shoot an update your way.
