No big secret that the 80’s – when it came to modern horror – was the decade of choice for the discriminating horror fan – those of us lucky enough to come of age during that new golden age of frights remember with great fondness the drive in, grindhouse cinema and good old VHS.
A new anthology film is out that is attempting to recapture that magical time – titled The Trick Or Treat Picture Show – it features a couple slasher flicks, a couple of haunted documentaries, some good old fashioned drive in ads, some trailers and a cooking show. Shot on 35mm and then played back on video – these filmmakers are going out of their way to completely recreate the experience of celebrating Halloween in the ’80’s.
The film is out now on Amazon Prime and ready to view, if you subscribe or to rent or buy – but first – take a look at the trailer.
Anthony Ashmore directs – Chris Banks and Christine James Walker star. Looks like a good time! I’ll be checking it out – how about you?
