This whole Halloween franchise thing is starting to get damn confusing. It would appear as if Blumhouse has greenlit a sequel to last years monster hit, no big surprise there right.
Where it all gets confusing is – how the hell can this one be Halloween 2? Shouldn’t it technically be Halloween 3? Follow along with me here gang. So, last years Halloween was a direct sequel to all the events that happened in John Carpenter’s original, that was clearly and easily established. So, even though they called it Halloween, it was actually Halloween 2 as the Blumhouse retelling ignored all the events of the original Halloween 2. Got all that?
So, that would make this just announced Halloween 2 actually Halloween 3 – am I right or am I right? I’m right! Right?
Rob Zombie’s little acid trips into Haddonfield don’t count (at least for me) but if they did – it only further confuses the whole mess but – we won’t even go there.
Anyway – the takeaway is that come fall 2020 old man Myers will once again be stalking the Strode clan. Jamie Lee Curtis is said to be on board. Judy Greer and Andi Matichak are rumored to be returning as well.
Word on the street is that filming will begin sometime after Labor Day this year and Universal has tentatively settled on an Oct. 16, 2020 release.
So, what do you think – do we need geriatric Micheal chasing Laurie around yet again? Sound off – I’m really interested in what you think of this one.
