[Podcast] Strolling Through the Dark with Emma

This week Joe and Zane took a trip across the pond to London to meet up with the lovely, multi-talented Emma Dark. Emma not only directs, she also writes, acts and models. Emma recently won the award for Best Director at the Starburst Media City Festival for her film “Salient Minus Ten”, a dark (no pun intended) sci-fi/horror film which stars Alan Austen who appeared in films such as The Empire Strikes Back and Indiana Jones.

We cover a lot of topics including how dreams inspire film which was the case for Salient Minus Ten, judging film festivals and Emma’s secret love for mullets. Emma shares her feelings about Marvel and joins Joe in sharing feelings on Blumhouse films.   Zane pitches a film and possible Netflix series, Joe tells why he is going to give Jason Vorhees a right hook and we find out all about Justin’s clubhouse and slingshot.

Emma’s 2015 film “Seize the Night” is a film in which she both directed and starred as a vampire. Emma speaks of how the role garnered her some unwanted attention and the likelihood of playing a vampire in future films. If given the choice Emma prefers to be behind the camera as opposed to in front of it. We also chat about the evolution of the scream queen and the difference of the role between the independent and studio film industries.

Put in your earbuds, crank up your speakers and let the Infestation consume you and find out what happened to Justin! (he will be back….pun absolutely intended)

Joe lives in the coal region of Northeastern PA with his beautiful wife Mary and their French Bulldogs Watson and Xander. He's a huge fan of all things horror and can't explain why especially since he was afraid of everything as a kid. He co-hosts the Indie Infestation podcast which gives a platform for those involved in the indie horror scene to get their name and projects out there. When he's not working he is usually watching the latest horror movie or show, at the gym with his wife or taking in a sporting event, Eagles! His all time favorite horror movie is the original Halloween, still effective to this day. Hit him up on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or drop an email, let him know what's awesome.
