Some of Stephen Kings best work of the last few years has been his Bill Hodges trilogy of which Mr. Mercedes was the first tome in the collection. Not a straight up horror story but certainly hardcore enough to make his bloodthirsty brood happy – the story was ripe for an adaptation and AT&T’s Audience Network was more than happy to oblige.
Premiering on Aug. 9th – the channel has supplied the following synopsis:
“From Executive Producers Stephen King, David E. Kelley and Jack Bender comes the story of a demented serial killer who taunts a retired police detective with a series of lurid letters and emails. This forces the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he can strike again.”
Along with that synopsis came our first look via a trailer – settle in and click play.
So – since this is on the Audience Network – you need to either have U-Verse or DirecTV to be able to see it. I’m sure there are a number of you out there who do so – make sure to let me know what you think. Hopefully it will get sent to Netflix or HULU or at the very least – a home video release.
Brendan Gleeson and Harry Treadaway star.
Season one will consist of 10 episodes. Remember the date – Aug. 9th!
