Any self-respecting Stephen King fan is well aware of the importance of the fictional town of Castle Rock – it has held a special place in numerous King stories and as such – a special place in the hearts of the fans. So, you can imagine the extreme glee that comes with the announcement that King and J.J. Abrams have once again teamed up and along with Hulu will be bringing the town of Castle Rock to life with a new series that bears the fictional towns name – Castle Rock. With the success of 11/22/63 – it’s no big surprise that Hulu is thrilled to once again have themselves an exclusive Stephen King property and I’ve got to tell you – this one could be huge. Don’t have an official press release to report off of yet but – some facts are known. Castle Rock will be an anthology series and it seems they may be borrowing a page from the American Horror Story playbook and have seasons and characters intertwine with one another – which King has already done in book form. Really curious to find out where they head with this! J.J. Abrams announced the project with the following video tease.
Only thing I can confirm at this point – other than the fact that this is happening is that Sam Shaw will write and executive produce. This is going to be one to really keep an eye on and updates should be plentiful so hang around and I’ll keep you up to date.
