The Horror News Radio grue-crew continue their 2016 journey to a series of amazing horror film festivals up and down the East Coast. Next up for Doc Rotten and, for this festival, Chad Hunt is the jam packed Knoxville Horror Film Festival in Tennessee playing October 21 – 23, 2016. Doc sits down with the director of the festival, William Mahaffey. The show has continued to to grow over the past year and the line up is as strong as ever, including showings of Phantasm Remastered and Phantasm Ravager. William shares his journey, the films and a peak into the future for the Festival.

For the eighth annual Knoxville Horror Film Festival, the programming crew have gathered an amazing festival full of fantastic horror films. Director William Mahaffey is here to discuss the festival, the films and the future. First he shares the origins of the festival and the passion he and his team have going into the curating and execution of the event each and every year. He shares some of the decisions he faces as he schedules the films. He also goes through each of the feature films and highlights many of the sensational shorts playing at this years festival. He also gives us a peak at the plans for next year including when and how to submit films for 2017.

Doc Rotten is the founder of Gruesome Magazine. He is also a film critic for Gruesome Magazine and the podcast host & producer for Horror News Radio, Monster Movie Podcast, Decades of Horror: 1970s, The American Horror Story Fan Podcast and Hannibal Fan Podcast. He is also co-host of the Dracula podcast on TV TALK and is a contributing reviewer for HorrorNews.Net and Widescreen Warrior.

Doc a lifelong fan of horror films, sci-fi flicks and monster movies first discovering Universal Monsters and Planet of the Apes as a young child in the 1970's searching out every issue of Famous Monster of Filmland (and, later, Fangoria). Favorite films include Jaws, The Car, The Birds, The Tingler, Vampire Circus and The Exorcist. Still a huge fan of horror films from the 70s, Doc continues consuming horror films to this day for the site, for the podcasts and for the fun of it all.
