Jason Blum And Some Pics Bring Us Up To Speed On New Slasher TOTALLY KILLER

With the spooky season fast approaching – we are starting to get some glimpses of what all the streaming services are going to offer up – one such selection will be TOTALLY KILLER a slasher flick that will hit Amazon Prime on Oct. 6th.

The synopsis states:

“When the infamous “Sweet Sixteen Killer” returns 35 years after his first murder spree to claim another victim, 17-year-old Jamie accidentally travels back in time to 1987, determined to stop the killer before he can start.”

Yep – time travel slasher flick – I’m in.

Since the strike is still going on – promotion looks a little different this time around – instead of interviews and clips – we’re getting statements from off-camera folks – like producer Jason Blum – who released the following statement.

A NOTE FROM PRODUCER JASON BLUM
The team at Blumhouse and I met with Nahnatchka Khan after her hilarious comedy Always Be My Maybe had come out. At Blumhouse we love working with filmmakers who are looking to try new things and was thrilled she wanted to play in the sandbox with us.   The script for Totally Killer was the perfect fit for her sensibility – the story has great characters, humor, and heart wrapped in a horror-slasher.

I think comedy and horror are distant cousins in the sense that they require an understanding of timing. Nahnatchka struck the right balance knowing when to play up laughs and build suspense towards those moments that make you jump. We also had a great cast led by Kiernan Shipka who were game on from the minute we started production.

The time travel element also makes this unique and really fun. There’s ‘80s easter eggs like the fashion and music in the movie for people like me who lived through those years, but also for younger generations who have seen the John Hughes movies, and movies like Heathers, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Back to the Future or watched them with their parents.

Totally Killer kicks off our favorite season when it premieres on Prime Video October 6. Excited that you’ll have a chance to watch soon!!!!!   Best, Jason Blum

Kiernan Shipka, Olivia Holt, Julie Bowen, Charlie Gillespie, Liana Liberato, Lochlyn Munro, and Randall Park all bring their talents to the project.

We did get a couple of photos to share – enjoy these while we wait for Oct. 6th to roll around.
