No doubt about it, the upcoming THE TOXIC AVENGER remake/reboot, written and directed by Macon Blair, will deliver what fans of the original 1984 horror-comedy are looking for.
According to sound editor Casey Genton, the film maintains the spirit of the original while also offering something for people who have never seen it. The cast, which includes Peter Dinklage, Jacob Tremblay, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon as the villain, adds to the anticipation. Troma fans will be pleased to hear that the film promises plenty of blood, guts, puke, and slime, with a particularly gross “butt guts” scene. There is no release date yet, but this positive update has fans eagerly anticipating its arrival.

Eiza González and Aaron Paul will star in the upcoming sci-fi thriller, ASH.
The film is being produced by the rapper/filmmaker Flying Lotus. The original cast, Tessa Thompson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, previously announced last summer, have now been replaced by Elza González and Aaron Paul. González will play the lead role of a woman who wakes up on a faraway planet to find her space station crew viciously killed. Paul will play the man sent to rescue her, but the woman must decide whether or not she can trust him. Ash is based on an original screenplay by Jonni Remmler and is being produced by XYZ Films and GFC Films. Neill Blomkamp and Echo Lake are onboard as executive producers. González will also be seen in the upcoming Netflix series Three Body Problem, while Paul recently starred in Sundance’s sci-fi film Dual and HBO’s Westworld.
