We are just a little over two weeks away from Leatherface once again roaming the back roads of Texas – and to make sure that this pending release stays fresh in horror fan’s minds Netflix has graced us all with a new promo poster – and the flesh masked maniac is front and center.
The Face Of Madness Returns indeed. Don’t you just love Leatherface our roaming amount the dead sunflowers? As the poster clearly states – Feb. 18th is when the saw will roar again.
The synopsis explains:
“After nearly 50 years of hiding, Leatherface returns to terrorize a group of idealistic young friends who accidentally disrupt his carefully shielded world in a remote Texas town.
Melody (Sarah Yarkin), her teenage sister Lila (Elsie Fisher), and their friends Dante (Jacob Latimore) and Ruth (Nell Hudson), head to the remote town of Harlow, Texas to start an idealistic new business venture. But their dream soon turns into a waking nightmare when they accidentally disrupt the home of Leatherface, the deranged serial killer whose blood-soaked legacy continues to haunt the area’s residents — including Sally Hardesty (Olwen Fouéré), the sole survivor of his infamous 1973 massacre who’s hell-bent on seeking revenge.”
As you can tell – this chapter will ignore all chapters of the TCM franchise with the exception of Tobe Hooper’s now-infamous classic.
Could work – and I’m excited to find out. Word also came out this week that John Larroquette, who did the voice-over on the original has returned to repeat the task in this excursion into chainsaw mayhem. So, that’s kind of cool.
