‘Slasher’ Heads To Shudder – David Cronenberg Set To Star

The horror series Slasher is like a cat – this show has nine lives. Originally a production of the Chiller TV network, the show moved to Netflix when that channel dried up and blew away. Netflix brought us a couple of seasons – which I personally enjoyed quite a bit but for whatever reason, Netflix passed on any further episodes so now – Shudder has picked up the ball and just announced season four tiled Slasher: Flesh and Blood.

While that news alone is worthy of celebration – the channel also announced that this season will star horror royalty, none other than iconic director David Cronenberg. Cronenberg has long dabbled in acting and will this time dive headfirst into leading a series and – I can’t wait to see how it all works out.

Acting alongside Mr. Cronenberg will be Paula Brancati, Jefferson Brown, Patrice Goodman, Sabrina Grdevich, Christopher Jacot, Rachael Crawford, Jeananne Goosen, Sydney Meyer, and Alex Ozerov. Storywise – here’s what’s heading our way:

“a wealthy but dysfunctional family gathering for a reunion on a secluded island. Their old wounds and competitive rivalries flare up when the family realizes a masked killer is on the island, intent on cruelly picking them off one by one.”

Shudder says to expect a 2021 rollout – they did send along a little teaser image which you can see below – kind of throws a Jack The Ripper vibe out – don’t you think?

More on this one as the new year rolls closer.
