IFC Schedules THE RENTAL for a Summer Drive-In Theater Release

One of the many odd things that have happened to movie and genre fans over the past few months is the resurgence of the Drive-In. For an “old fart” such as myself who grew up in the Seventies and early Eighties, the Drive-In brings back special memories of discovering the most outrageous of horror films before the event of VHS and home video. It was amazing, truly! Now, as many theaters have yet to reopen across the country, IFC is releasing Dave Franco’s THE RENTAL to Drive-In theaters on July 24, 2020, with a special preview release date on June 18, 2020, at the Vineland Drive-In in California with Dave Franco present for a Q&A . If you live nearby, this should be amazing! Here are all the details as we wait for the full trailer to drop this Thursday.

Directed by Dave Franco

In Select Drive-Ins, Theaters and On Demand July 24, 2020.

Special Sneak Drive-In Screening and Q&A with Dave Franco
Thursday, June 18th – 8:30 PM
Vineland Drive-In

Directed by: Dave Franco
Written by: Dave Franco and Joe Swanberg
Starring: Alison Brie (GLOW), Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) Sheila Vand (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night), Jeremy Allen White (Shameless)

Two couples on an oceanside getaway grow suspicious that the host of their seemingly perfect rental house may be spying on them. Before long, what should have been a celebratory weekend trip turns into something far more sinister, as well-kept secrets are exposed and the four old friends come to see each other in a whole new light. Alison Brie, Dan Stevens, Jeremy Allen White, and Sheila Vand star in this unnerving and sophisticated debut thriller from Dave Franco (NEIGHBORS, IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK, THE DISASTER ARTIST).
