First Images Make Their Way Online For The ‘CBS All Access’ Production Of ‘The Stand’

I have made no secret that I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of this CBS All Access adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand. I loved the original mini-series – just re-watched it last night actually but – it will be great to see a different take on this classic tale – and I love the cast they have put together.

Check this line up out – we’ve got Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abagail, Alexander Skarsgård as Randall Flagg, Odessa Young as Frannie Goldsmith, Owen Teague as Harold Lauder, Nat Wolff as Lloyd Henreid, Jovan Adepo as Larry Underwood, and Heather Graham as Rita Blakemoor – and the list continues with James Marsden as Stu Redman, Amber Heard as Nadine Cross, Greg Kinnear as Glen Bateman, Henry Zaga as Nick Andros, Brad William Henke as Tom Cullen, Katherine McNamara as Julie Lawry, Hamish Linklater as Dr. Ellis, Eion Bailey as Teddy Weizak, Daniel Sunjata as Cobb, Fiona Dourif as the Rat Woman. Hell – even Marilyn Manson has a role, although who he will be portraying is for some reason, still a mystery. A butt load of photos has made their way online – showing us a host of characters at all their “end of the world” glory.

Still no word on a debut date but – hoping it’s going to be sooner than later. Word is that they’ve changed the way they are telling the story a bit – using flashbacks as opposed to the straight narrative style of the first adaptation.

Excited to see what they’ve come up with.
