HBO And Two Horror Heavyweights Teaming Up To Bring ‘Hellraiser’ To The Small Screen

The Hellraiser franchise is one of the horror genre’s most beloved properties – while at the same time being a film series that has managed to meander far from its roots. To say some liberties have been taken from Clive Barker’s original vision would be an understatement of epic proportions.

Perhaps an HBO produced series might put that train back on its track?

Looks like we just might find out as HBO has announced a deal to develop such a project with new Halloween guru David Gordon Green on board to direct the pilot, as well as several other episodes, and Trick r’ Treat and Godzilla – King Of The Monsters mastermind Michael Dougherty behind the writing end of things. Mark Verheiden is also tasked with writing duties.

No other info available right now but – the prospect of this group of individuals bringing this classic story to this particular network is exciting, to say the least. We’ll have to see what Green and friends have in store for us – and I’m thinking it will likely end up being used to drive business to their HBO Max service – so get ready to add another streaming service to your ever-growing list of monthly subscriptions.
