Been looking forward to seeing this retelling of War Of The Worlds since I reported on it last year. This is the BBC mini-series version that stars Gabriel Byrne and tells the story of what goes down when:
“astronomers detect a transmission from another galaxy, definitive proof of intelligent extraterrestrial life. Earth’s population waits for further contact with baited breath, but does not have to wait long. Within days, mankind is all but wiped out, with just pockets of humanity are left in an eerily deserted world. As alien ships appear in the sky, the survivors ask a burning question — who are these attackers and why are they hell-bent on our destruction? “
It aired overseas last fall and now, finally, thanks to EPIX, we’re going to get to see it here in the states.
February 16th is when it hits the channel – so write that date down!
