Steeped in nostalgia – and as entertaining as it is emotional – today we get our first look at the official third chapter in the Ghostbusters saga, Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Nothing against the version that rolled out a few years back – I actually enjoy that version for what it is but this – this takes us all right back home.
We got a poster a day or so back that was – at the time – a bit confusing – the ECTO-1 driving around in a field but now, with the trailer to explain things a bit – that poster has become a thing of beauty.
So, enough blathering on – let’s have a look at the magic!
I think Doc put it best – it’s very Spielberg-ian – and that pretty much sums it up. I dare you to not get goosebumps when you hear Bill Murray’s voiceover.
The synopsis as it stands now just pretty much describes the trailer:
“From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. The film is written by Jason Reitman & Gil Kenan.”
Don’t know how you feel about it but for me – this trailer hits all the right chords – officially stoked to see what this chapter brings us.
July 10th is when we’ll make the call!
