During their announcements at SDCC the folks at Marvel Studios outright stated that they are now officially in the horror business. Their wildly popular Doctor Strange storyline will take a turn into the genre with Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness – part of their Phase 4 tier of upcoming films. Here’s the info we have so far.
Director Scott Derrickson is no stranger to the horror world having both The Exorcism Of Emily Rose and Sinister under his belt – being tapped to helm the new Doctor Strange and then getting the OK to give it a horror spin – it has to be as overwhelming as it is exciting – and it’s some welcome news for fans of both genres.
Not much known – and Derrickson didn’t spill too many beans at the presentation – we do know that Elizabeth Olsen will be on board, bringing the Scarlet Witch into the film – a direct tie in from the upcoming Disney Plus series Wandavision, which will explain Olsen’s characters inclusion in the film. Marvel does an amazing job of keeping their storylines running through multiple storylines.
Got a while to wait on this one. Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is eyeing a May 7th, 2021 release date. You can bet your ass, we’ll be talking about this one a lot.
