I have always loved the 1988 remake of The Blob, the Chuck Russell directed remake of the classic Steve McQueen flick from back in the day. Not sure why but, the flick has never seemed to have gotten the love it deserves but once again – here comes Scream Factory to the rescue.
We don’t have a ton of info yet – the crap load of special feature will be announced a bit later this summer. We do have your first look at the new cover art that will grace the front of the new release.

Kevin Dillon and Shawnee Smith star – but the true star is the slimy, shiny, sticky, oozy, Blob that devours all in it path. The official synopsis:
“In a tiny California town where high school students Brian (Kevin Dillon), Meg (Shawnee Smith) and Paul (Donovan Leitch) discover a strange, gelatinous substance that melts the flesh of any living creatures in its path. The deadly substance gets into the town’s sewer system, where it begins growing uncontrollably, occasionally emerging to feast on unsuspecting townspeople. A military clean-up crew is sent to eliminate the menace, but it may end up doing more harm than good.”
October 15th is when you can attempt to hold this one in your hands. As soon as Scream Factory makes the special features known – you’ll hear about it here.
