Not sure why this news surprises me as much as it does but – it was announced this evening that non-other than Mark Hamill will be the voice of Chucky for this summers upcoming reboot of the Child’s Play franchise.
Of course, till this point in time, Brad Dourif has been the one and only voice of our pint-sized evil doll but the times they are a changing and it seems that Hamill is the new voice of Chucky.
When you think about it – really think about it – this kind of makes sense. Hamill drew rave reviews for his voice work as The Joker in the Batman series and let’s face it – Chucky is all about the voice. I’m sure you purists out there will find this news a bit hard to swallow but – suck it up buttercups – it’s happening. Mark Hamill is Chucky!
