Here is your opportunity to join the Horror News Radio and Gruesome Magazine Grue-Crew for a special BIG-SCREEN presentation of THE MANITOU (1978). We are joining forces with the Nevermore Film Festival in Durham, North Carolina to present the incredible mind-blowing classic from 1978 during the Nineteenth annual affair on the weekend of February 23-25, 2018. This will be the 40th anniversary of the film. Join Doc Rotten, Thomas Mariani, Dave Dreher, and many more of the Grue-Crew for this special event. And stick around to see many other festival favorites that weekend. We will be planning a number of meet-ups and events surrounding the screening as well.
As you may know, THE MANITOU holds a special place in the hearts and minds of the Grue-Crew and the fans of Horror News Radio and Decades of Horror 1970s. The film was a personal favorite of SANTOS ELLIN, JR. (THE BLACK SAINT), one of the original hosts of Horror News Radio and founding member of Gruesome Magazine who we lost this year. Santos adored THE MANITOU and championed its director William Girdler. Festival director Jim Carl and the team behind Nevermore Film Festival have made it possible for the Grue-Crew to celebrate Santos’ love for the film with a 40th-anniversary screening of THE MANITOU during 2018 Nevermore Film Festival. The screening is planned for Saturday, February 24, 2018. We hope you can join us there!
Look for sign up sheets and more details as we get closer to the Nevermore Film Festival and the screening date. We are hoping to have a lunch or dinner meet-up and a celebratory gathering over the weekend to remember Santos. Again, stay tuned for the details as the date grows closer. For now, please comment below if you are interested in coming or join the Horror News Radio Facebook Group and show your interest in the Events as they are posted.
