I don’t think it will come as a surprise to any of you reading this that I am not the biggest fan of superhero and comic book flicks. My point of view is well documented on many a Horror News Radio broadcast – and in print. So, when the news broke earlier this year that there was going to be an X-Men spinoff titled The New Mutants – I could have cared less, when the director said it was going to be a hard core horror flick, yeah you guessed it – still didn’t care.
A trailer made its way online and well – now I’m interested. This actually looks pretty damn good – have a look.
Not much of a synopsis but, here’s what we have:
“a diverse cadre of teens learning to cope with their superpowers. These new mutants find themselves held in a secret facility against their will and must battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past.”
The way this trailer is cut – other than the Marvel logo at the start, you really wouldn’t have a clue that this was an X-Men flick and, I kind of like that. Josh Boone directs and we all get to lay our eyes on the final product come April 13th.
