The Women in Horror Film Festival has announced its guest list for 2017, and it looks to include a great group of filmmakers. Guests include genre favorites such as Lynn Lowry (Cat People (1982)), , Sonya Thompson (The Walking Dead (2010)), and Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead). Additionally, the festival will include several panels featuring additional guests. A panel on A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) will feature series alums, Heather Langenkamp and Amanda Wyss. Those looking for advice on marketing and distributing one’s films should plan on attending the panel on that topic run by the Soska Sisters, Jen and Sylvia (American Mary (2012)).

The Women in Horror Film Festival is proud to support and showcase female filmmakers and screenwriters from around the world. When asked what prompted the launch of the festival, Vanessa said, “I think this is an opportunity to celebrate women in film and the integral role that we play both on and off the screen.” Samantha added, “As a huge fan of genre films, and as someone who really enjoys working with diverse creative teams, I’m excited to launch this festival to celebrate and honor the tremendous work being produced by talented women creatives and their colleagues.”
