Not a lot of Pennywise but – I’m glad that’s the case. We get a few peeks and hints but more importantly we get a pretty in-depth look at Derry, Maine – in a way an even more important element in Stephen King’s seminal horror tale IT. While the mini-series holds a special place in the hearts of many a horror fan – especially of s certain age (this one included) – due mainly to the performance of Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown – I think most of us would also agree, it fell far short of delivering the dramatic punch of the novel.
From the wonderful albeit much too short look under the covers (or sewer grate, if you will) that this first full trailer reveals – it’s looking to me like director Andrés Muschietti gets it. In only 2:33 – I already care about these characters. Check it out and see if you agree:
