PRESS RELEASE

SCREAM QUEEN LINNEA QUIGLEY SEEKS FUNDING FOR DIRECTORIAL DEBUT

Milwaukee, WI – She’s known for her roles screaming and jiggling in front of the camera. It began in 1976’s PSYCHO FROM TEXAS and made her a legend with a naked tombstone dance in 1985’s RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD. Now, with over 120 horror and comedy credits under her belt, Scream Queen Linnea Quigley is moving behind the camera for the documentary EXTRAS!, and she needs help from fans to make the dream come true.

After moving to Los Angeles in her early 20s, Quiqley earned money on films as an “extra” – a person who appears [on screen] usually with no [dialog] or dramatic significance to the final picture. (For example, an undistinguished person walking around the background of a street scene.) As her fame increased, the actress secured additional income and appearances at horror conventions. It was at these events she began to meets fans who would go to great lengths to appear as an extra in any variety of low-budget features, often with little-to-no-pay. Over the last 3 decades Quiqley has continued to see some of these same faces and consistently meet new ones. Without the goal of stardom, she has come to wonder, “What makes these people tick?” EXTRAS! will follow these people, plus interview actors who began their careers as extras.

To raise the $16,000 budget Quigley needs to produce the documentary, alongside producer Jason Paul Collum (SCREAMING IN HIGH HEELS: THE RISE & FALL OF THE SCREAM QUEEN ERA) and his B+Boy Productions, LLC., she has launched a Kickstarter campaign. Donations begin at $5 with a “thank you” and go up to $2,000 which would land you an “executive producer” credit. The in-between donations can get backers a variety of gifts like DVDs, books, rare autographed photos, additional credits and a one-on-one tarot reading by phone with Quigley. (*Note: Donations are charged to credit/debit cards and gifts are delivered ONLY if the crowd-funding campaign is successful by October 15, 2016)
